I was trying to find some diagrams on G2 because I am very interested as to how the plugin part works and the basic setup of gallery 2. Since I never before set up anything in php using classes for just about everything. Now I found this page but at a first glance I can tell the diagrams are outdated already (one still treats layouts and themes separately). Are there any up to date diagrams? Right now I'm just building a Gallery 2 replica without the gallery part that also has the caching and some other systems stripped so that I get a simpler version from which I hope to understand the basics of the structure better. |

Sure I could, but the reason I was asking is because I want to do the reverse and that is read the diagrams to understand more of the structure and how parts require/use eachother. If I must get that from the code it'll take me a lot longer and it eliminates my need for the diagrams :S
So I just thought to ask if anyone who already knows the structure has done this or is planning to do it ;)
(btw, isn't there some (free) tool that can do this??)

I think bharat mentioned the old diagrams were done with some regexps to convert enough php syntax to java that he could use some java tool.
