I have own a D70 for the past two years. I love it and have not had any problems with it until now. The other day I got it out of the case and tried to turn it on nothing happened. Thinking it was a dead battery I changed them out. A green indicator light on the camera back started blinking. I tried to turn on the camera and nothing happened but the blinking light. I took the memory card out and the blinking light stopped but it would still not turn on.

I thought it was a bad card so I switched out memory cards and nothing changed.

I read the troubleshooting in the camera's manual and it mentioned a reset button. I pressed this button trying to reset the camera. Nothing happened. The blinking light when out while I had the button pushed in but after the button was released the light started blinking again.

Can anyone help me solve this problem. I live in Bangkok, Thailand and am not sure where to take it if I need it fixed. I am going on a trip to Egypt soon and really want the camera fixed.

Please help!!!

This isn't gallery related so I'm moving it to the appropriate forum.

i have had this problem as well. It is infact an error inherent in many D70's in that a electronic sensor within gives way. I recently had my D70 fixed for the same reason without charge. Go to www.maxwell.com.au and follow the prompts for D70 and will give you an idea.
hope this helps

As of tonight, I am experiencing exactly the same problem at Traveling P. So please, if anybody can assist with a solution, it would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the exact same problem. I recently checked on the Nikon site and for this specific problem they are repairing it, free of charge, whether you are in warranty or not. You'll pay for shipping to them, but according to the site, they'll turn it around in 5 business days:

Good luck.
