there're appletts that allow switching between panoramas by clicking on certain places on photo, marked by some common sign or icon - hyperlinks. This can create impression of actual walking between the rooms or down the street. I would love that in G2.

So - my question is: would it be very difficult (if even possible) to place hyperlink on the surface of the photo displayed by panorama applet? It is working in applet being created by pixmaker from http://www.pixaround.com/ I found this functionality unusual and original, making viewing panoramas more attractive. I have been working with pixmaker for a while. Eventually I could use it in gallery but there would be no way of making possible for average users to upload panoramas straight away. This functionality is essential.

If anyone who is literate with panorama module or/and java would like to work on that, I could exchange some thoughs and ideas, maybe we could create something similar to pixmaker's applet. Pixmaker itself is quite expensive program, containing way too much we would need (stitching panoramas, automated creating simple websites, presentations)

kind regards, Chris

The best idea I can think of is make a Flash applet and have it automatically plug into existing image file and generates a Panorama Flash media file. Using something like pixaround is definitely too much trouble.

Actualy i was thinking about using existing panorama module. Modufying it in a way that would make impression of having a virtual walk. But if you have links to something similar in flash, I would love to see it.

kind regards, Chris

Just to bump back this thread since I'm looking for the same.

The program Pano2QTVR from www.pano2qtvr.com offers flash output for the Flash v8 viewer in the last 1.5 beta version. You can feed your panos after stitching to pano2qtvr and decide the output for Quicktime, Java, SPi-V (Shockwave) or Flash. It's also possible to set hotlinks (URLs) between panos.

Dicplaying panos with a Java player the best choice right now is the viewer from www.Immervision.com, because it supports full screen display with Java.

I'm new to Gallery and I installed the script v.2.1.2 yesterday evening together with the Google Map module 0.5.1d to build a panorama gallery on a Google Map. Clicking on the thumbnails of the location I want to open a window with a 360° panorama in Flash or with the Immervision player.

If you want to code something we can provide guidance.. look at modules/panorama/classes/PanoramaRenderer.class and you'll see the xhtml it outputs. Maybe modify this to use your flash or java viewer?

Mindless: thx a lot, I will have a look.
Meanwhile it works fine with Flash panos in a decent size.
Tested at www.liguria360.net

Hi,

I'm also looking for a panorama tools, wich allows me to view :
- partial pano (less than 360)
- 360 pano
- 360 + 180 pano (full sphere - or less)
- zoom in and out
- use hotspots
- can be launched in fullscreen when user requests it.

I'd like to use a great java viewer, called PTViewer, but I didn't found any module for it, or implementation... Does anyone see a way to use it in Gallery2 ?

Thanks,
Florent ;-)

EDIT : I tried to look at PanoramaRendered.class but I can't... I don't have it in the folder !!!! But I have PanoramaDerivativeImage.class wich seems to be nearly the same... BTW, I think it's possible to modify it, or maybe create a new module, based on panorama module.... I can try... Where I can find some informations on module programming ? (except this post : http://gallery.menalto.com/node/39399) Thanks !

click developers in the top bar here.
you should start with panoram from current svn / nightly snapshot, where you'll find the Renderer instead of DerivativeImage.

How can you explain (if it's normal or not) that I don't have the same files as in dev section ?

Thanks for your help
Florent
