Where can I find this file? I checked my unzipped directories for the map module, but couldn't locate that file.
I guess I should have look a bit closer...
YOur error says it is looking for modules/map/templates/mapItemAdmin.tpl
but that is not a file in the map module.
How many items have you added so far?
Did you clear your template cache?
I've added just one item. How do I clear my template cache?
site admin > Maintenance
If that does not work then I would suggest starting over again.
Uninstall the map module and then remove the directory and start again. Perhaps a file was not uploaded or a table was not created durring the install.

Thanks! It's working now.

Had me worried for a bit.
Glad you got it sorted.

Oh no... the same old problem came back... I don't even know how it got fixed previously...
I found out why this occurs, this only occurs when I add the customized field GPS to the album for my Map theme. So what should I do?
The Map Theme and The Map Module have nothing to do with each
other (you may already be aware of this). Are you actually using
The Map Theme? If not, you do not need to use the customized field
GPS. If you are then I see no reason why it would cause any complaint
about anything having to do with The Map Module. If you still have a
problem, I would gladly have a look if you PM me the necessary
information to gain admin access.

Yes, of course. I am using the Map Theme, only for this one album, and GPS customized field was created for just this one album.

I just found out why this was "magically fixed" yesterday:
When I go to "Edit Album", and click on "Custom Fields" tab,
if it shows the "Edit custom field settings for this album" link only, then the "Goggle Map" tab works.
If I happen to click the "Edit custom field settings for this album" link before going to the "Goggle Map" tab, then that tab does not work.
Is this a bug in either the module or the theme?
This is indeed odd.
The only thing -I- can come up with would be grabbing at a straw; but,
you can try it if you are inclined.
In map/module.inc find:
and change it to:
[code]
WHERE [GalleryCustomFieldMap::field] = \'xGPS\'
[/code
and then go back through your testing procedures.
I would be surprised if this case check stiil applies to anybody; but,
one never knows.

Related to this problem, I was wondering with the help of Google Map module, can I actually automatically populate the GPS field for my Map theme?
"Related..."
That's stretchin' it.
No, not automatically (unless you write it ;-)).
Did you get a chance to check out the module.inc thing?
Nope, I decided that it is not really a big issue since I know what causes it, I'll just avoid clicking that link under "Custom Fields" in "Edit Album".

To export the coordinated from one to the other you can export the table called CustomFieldMap into a SQL query and then just keep all the lines that are the "GPS" customfield (delete the other)
After that you can just rename all instances of CustomFieldMap to mapMap and then re-import the modified SQL query.
You can do that in both direction of course (CustomFieldMap <-> mapMap). At this point it is only a manual process coz there should be no need for using both the module and the theme :-D
See you

Hi,
It looks like I have the same problem when I click on the "Google Map" tab under "Edit Album" (see error detail below).
I have tried to change the code in map/module.inc as suggested :
WHERE [GalleryCustomFieldMap::field] = \'xGPS\'
changed to :
WHERE [GalleryCustomFieldMap::field] = \'xGPS\'
But I still get the same errors.
It works fine under "Edit Item".
Can someone help me ?
Thanks in advance,
Fabrice

Did you by any chance upgraded the module from a very old version to this last one ? (I'm assuming here that you are using the module 0.5.1d)
Also there is no reference in the module for mapItemAdmin.tpl unless it was left behind some place, this file has been removed from the module a while ago.
try to delete the template cache to see if that helps, maybe some left over from before ....
If this does not help, you can PM me some access to your gallery/files and I'll take a look at it.
Thanks !

Unfortunately I can't give you access to the gallery as it's not on the network. I did a fresh install of Gallery 2.1.1 and of the map module (0.5.1d) on my PC for test purposes. I also installed the map themes (and removed it after the problem occured).
I'll try your suggestion and if it does not work I'll try to re-install the whole thing.
Thanks for your help.

I re-installed everything (Gallery 2.1.1 and map module 0.5.1d). Everything worked fine until (as "clifc" mentioned it) I clicked the "Override global custom field settings for this album" option under the "Custom fields" in the "Edit Album" section. Then I get the error when I try to access the "Google Map" tab under the "Edit Album" section.
If I click the "Revert to global custom field settings for this album" option then everything is back to normal.

Sorry for the late answer but I wasn't home these last 2 days.
I have replaced the mapItemEdit.inc file by yours : it fixed my problem. I can now access both the Custom Fields and the Google Map tabs under the "Edit Album" section.
Thanks for your help.
