2.04 installation hangs at step 8

G2 installation hangs at step 8 everytime, resulting in the message, "Error installing Gallery Core, Core module is only partially installed."

Gallery version: 2.04, minimal, typical, and full installs all attempted
PHP version: 4.3.4
Webserver: IIS 5.1
Database: MySQL 4.0.18-nt running on localhost as root@localhost
Activated toolkit: GD
Operating system: WinXP Pro SP2
Browser: IE6, Firefox 1.5.1

I'm testing Gallery2 on my local server before installing it on our commercial ISP. Please review and advise.

this install log is from a retry / refresh. we need the original install log. don't click refresh / back.

delete g2data and the database and install it again please. thanks.

Deleted all contents in the g2data directory, created a new database, had same exact failure.
