Hi. Some things that are really unclear to me:
What is the difference between Gallery and Gallery Remote?
And when I go to the downloads section, I don't see a Win32 link! all I see is tar.z or whatever which is linux=( someone please help.
btw I love your work!

Pretty simple.
1. Gallery is an PHP application (script collection) that basically runs on any webserver that supports PHP. Apache 1.3.x is supported on Linux. Win32/other platforms are not supported, but that does not mean that in doesn't work. Hence, only tarballs of the app.
2. Gallery Remote is an Java application used to upload images to an existing Gallery installation running on a webserver.
Hope that clears it up for you.

Sure you can! Search the forums here for win32 or xp/2000 and read more about it. The fact that its not supported, only means that the developers make no guarantee that it will work on Windows platforms, nor do they provide support for it.
There are several users here that have done this before, i haven't, and I guess you would get som help from them. The key is to have specific questions, and not questions like "It doesn't work. Why?"
The first think to be thinking about is getting a web server up'n'running with PHP enabled. I recommend Apache for Win32 since it's not as bug-ridden and such a security hazard as Microsofts IIS 5.0. And, a bonus is that if you use Apache, a lot of the installation instructions relate to the Win32 version aswell.
I'm sure you'll find a lot of helpfull people here, once you get on your way! Good luck!

oh, sorry.
Winzip/winrar both handle .gz and .tar files, so both should work.
