Hello
I just recently upgraded my g2.0 to g2.1 and all seem sucessfull, before the upgrade it complained that my Google Maps Module was incompatible, so before I proceeded I completely uninstalled the Maps module via G2's module interface. Once the upgrade was complete I grabbed the latest version (0.5.0f) and installed it. It installed fine, but when I went to activate it it spit out a security violation. Can anyone help?

Try uninstalling and then re-installing the module (if you have not already).

I've tried that a dozen times unfortunately, I even seached my DB for tables that had "google" or "map" and cleaned any refrences found (which was none)

Until Termite jumps in I'll keep going :-)

Maybe try obtaining and installing 0.5.0e instead and see what happens.

galmoid, I really appreciate your help...
a fresh uninstall of 5.0f and reinstall of 5.0e and still nothing, I get the same security violation error. Any other ideas?

It looks like the permissions are not right:

humm...on my end that file is in all lowercase, thats not good cause Apache (on *nix) is case sensitive.
I wonder if my zip utility is broke, since all the files it unziped in this dir is lowercase...humm

Hey thanks dave, your help keyed me in to the problem. the version of zip on my ISP's box is broke, no matter what case the file name is in the zip file, that version of zip they use extracts it all as lowercase.

G2 was delivered as a zip, and I used the ISP's zip utility to unzip this as well, so far I dont seem to be having any issues running g2, but I cant help but to think there might now be underlaying problems. What are you guys reccomendations on re-installing? Could I backup my config.php, rename (or essentially delete) my g2 directory and put a correct version of hte software in place? I really want to start fresh with this installation to avoid future problems.

Nice catch.
Me.... I would take the ISP to task about their broken zip
utility (or at least ask them if I was doinmg something
lame and if not, then take them to task). You'd likely
be bit by this in the futire if you don't deal with it.
Just my opinion.

I've already sent them an email about it...its unreal and I cant belive nobody has complained about it b4.

However, I have a new issue...maps module has been configured however now when I go to "show google maps" I get this error

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /homepages/35/d93225757/htdocs/vellypooh.com/g2/modules/map/ShowMap.inc on line 243

aye! it never ends.
