[checkout by email 0.0.7] / Matrix 1.1.0 and Gallery 2.1....checkout doesn't appear on site?

so...I've done a clean install of gallery 2.1 and uploaded the checkout by email module v.0.0.7...but when I use the "add to cart" item from the drop-down menu and it redirects me to the cart...there is no indication of a "checkout." I configured the checkout by email module in siteadmin, however. Am I doing something completely stupid here? when it goes to the "cart" page shouldn't the "checkout" button or whatever be available? what am I missing here? I am not getting any error messages or anything. Also, and I don't know if this is a related problem or not, but, when I attempt to switch themes nothing happens. Am I missing a config.php file somewhere?

I did a fairly thorough search to see if this topic had already been covered, but didn't find an answer. I appologize if there is already a thread on this issue.

I am having a similar problem. First I turned off the standard cart option module that comes with gallery (as directed in instructions as you said it was no longer needed) and then installed the most recent versions of checkout module and the checkout by paypal module (downloaded today). I installed, configured them both and activated them. But no "add to cart" button displays on my photo pages. The only time an "add to cart" will display is when I turn on the default cart module that came with gallery - but off course that doesn't go anywhere. You can add photos to your cart all day but there is no checkout process.

What did I miss here? I followed the instructions step by step.
