Do you have a tutorial how to add html links next to the login in setting? I dont really see that with this plugin installed.

And how do i make it that the links open in the gallery environment?

I dont see it, and if i use "links-in-the-head" the link opens in fullscreen, not inside the gallery, wich is not what i want.

EDIT
Ok i got it. "main.php?g2_view=htmlitem.ViewHtmlItem&g2_htmlitem="

Hi All

Ok Finally worked out to get this working module working. I want to put a imge in the user message box, can this be done.

Also where abouts do i find this text, what file is it in, so i can learn how these things work.

Also can we add more pages to this module so to add 2 or 3 pages on the menu and its all in the one place instead of duplicating the module as i read some else had done !!
cheers

Ok Worked out how to add an image with the bbcodes, i assume the centre bb code is what i want to use, tried it but it doesn't work. it just displayed centre as texted. i notice on the user message box that you only have certain options ?

Also on the top as the heading it displays CONTACT::ABOUT How do i remove CONTACT.

Cheers

Pete,
You need to change all instances of about to contact in all the files. I made sure I did not change the case also. So About needs to be Contact and about to contact. Open up each file and do a search and replace with your editor. There is not too many files in this mod. I think all the changes took me less than 5 minutes. Hope this helps.

If anyone has a po file, please send it to me. I just cannot get it to work.

Thanks!

I still don't understand the rewrite rules.

Can someone please give a definitive explanation/example what to do.

Thanks,

David.

Been through all the files for this module, but no luck.

http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_formatting.asp
or
http://gallery.menalto.com/filter/tips/5

bbcode size markup does not work (here at least).
Any other suggestions?

From memory i could not get the bbcodes to work either, so i ended up using raw html, then using the relevant html code in the module page.

Hope that helps

That's what I was afraid of -- having to switch everything to raw HTML -- oh well -- thanks.

Good morning

Very new to this and seeing that the zip was given to us and I thank you back in 2006 - just curious, is it still good to use this for adding an about page? Thank you, Mark

Hi everyone,

So I upgraded to 2.3 recently, and received a message during the upgrade that AboutPage is not supported, and to download a newer version.

It's not available in the get new plugins menu in G2.

Is there going to be a new version available, or has anyone been able to get the old version working on 2.3?

Cheers,

Nick

I'm using it in G2.3. I don't remember having to do anything to get it working.

Hi,
I have gallery2.3 and the "aboutpage" works, nw my question ; is it possible to modify it to use it for an "impressum" ??

Or is there somewhere an Impressum module ? I searched but did not found it, thanks

have a look http://www.eurasierpfoten.de

I forgot: how can I make that the aboutpage shows the same theme as the mainpage ??

Hi,

for all German users of the module 'AboutPage' with Gallery version 2.3 I have localized it into German language.
Attached you will find the needed language files.
Simply unzip it and upload the two files de.po and de.mo into the folder '.../modules/aboutpage/po/'.
To activate it you should clear the cache of the gallery and your browser. If this does not work please log out and login to gallery.
Please ensure that you are using the original module without hardcoded translations ;-)

Let me know if this is working for you.
If you find bugs or improvements for German translation feel free to contact me.

Cheers,
Jens

Hi Jens

I've translated once the module checkout. In this course I've learned that the .mo-files are cached by gettext and that one has to restart the webserver to clear that cache. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Hi oceco,

I do not know much about this.
From my (few) experiences in translating the modules 'mranalysis' and now 'aboutpage' I did not need to restart the webserver. In my case it was ok to clear the caches and sometimes to logout and login.

Cheers,
Jens

I haven't when I've installed modules. However, if you're using a php accelerator that may need refreshing\restarting for things to appear correctly, depending on how it is set up.

Works perfectly, thank you very much for your work!

Now how can I create another site with another name? I tried it by replacing the "about" in the original but got a Gallery error. Which arguments do I have to alter?

I've added this module into the community repository (available through site admin\get more plugins) link.

Currently I've applied the following patches to it:
* Added URL Rewrite support
* Added German Translations from file above.

Just installed the module - thanx for all the help in this thread - but still one question open.

How do I get rid off the image-block (?) in the sidebar when the about page is displayed?
