So, I migrated from g1 to g2, but the migratino got stuck on building the thumbnails. The gallery LOOKS fine, but:
a) I have no way of verifying that, and
b) When I try to rebuild the thumbnails through the admin page, I get the same problem.
I get a progress bar, and this in the top right hand corner: Memory used: 0, total: 0
The progress bar initializes to say: Processing image 210 of 5934
and then never moves or changes the number.
What should I be doing to solve a and b?

I just migrated my 10,000+ gallery 1 to gallery 2, also using Firefox, and in spite of increasing PHP memory to 200MB still got that orange bar freezing at times, even though I migrated images in approximately 250 photo chunks. I found out by diligent checking that provided you reached the thumbnail stage, the albums were correctly migrated, although as Gallery creates thumbnails automatically when you access an album for the first time I presume that the thumbnails weren't created during migration.
If the bar froze during the first stage, however, the relevant albums were incomplete (you can see how far the import got by noting the image where it froze). I verified this by checking the albums in Gallery, and because I wasn't sure about the mapping upgrading, always deleted any partial album and started from there.
As far as I can check, my Gallery 2 is working correctly, and the G1-G2 mapping seems correct. As yet I have not activated the redirect as I want to be absolutely sure everything is OK before I risk 10000 Google etc entries, but I'm working up my nerve...;-)
