Thanks for the team effort on integrating G2 into e107. IMHO, G2 is the best image gallery and now it's integrated with my favorite CMS.

Once again, mad props to Garbor for all the bug fixes.

(can this get stickied so it doesn't get lost in the forums?)

For people that want to embed a slightly more complex theme than siriux or matrix i made this custom version of Carbon (all credit goes to Mincel that made the original version)

-header image gone
-footer images gone
-the floating sidebar is a static sidebar now because in caused problems when embedded.
-removed all references to the floating sitebar

download available here: http://www.psygarden.be/tmp/Carbon_e107.zip

Kind regards,
Rik

I am or I used to be a coppermine user with e107.
Some one wrote a theme for the coppermine plug that would use the e107 theme settings, and apply them to coppermine.

Is that something that can be done with gallery2 ?

I think I need to change the css file in Gallery to match my current e107 template.

The only thing you need is to make the colors match really... when using a simple theme like siriux you can make it blend it perfectly just like that.

for a theme like carbon you'll need some mild modifications but it still works out nicely (look at psygarden or rashan's website for examples)

You might need to correct some font type, but that's about the only thing i can think of.

Are there any changes to be made to the carbon_e107 rewrite to make it work on Gallery2 v 2.2 ?

Anyway to bring in the floating sidebar?? That is something that would look really nice embedded

Sidebars work now, i just don't like them personally (not intuitive at all)

there are no changed that you really need to make to use it, there where only things i did to make it better for me personally ;)

ps. Why isn't e107 mentioned as a fullworthy gallery2 bridge ?

Good question. The only place it's mentioned is at http://codex.gallery2.org/Integration

We can't even get a topic stickied. ;)

I've created an updated version of the gallery2 plugin for e107 that fixes a number of issues.

You can download the new version (v0.5.1) from my website:

psygarden,
Thanks for the hard work and for keeping up with the e107 plug-in for Gallery.

Is it possible for you to include my request in this thread into the next release? http://gallery.menalto.com/node/69382

Thanks again! If it wasn't for your hard work...I'd still be at the mercy of the Coppermine plugs that were coded around CPG, instead of running along side of the photo gallery - like yours does so well.

Check out http://www.e107.be/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12 for Rik's to-do list. That might be a good place for a discussion on how your request might be implimented.

Hi,
I have a big problem when installing the plugin.
An older version installs correctly but, after a succesfull import, I can't see any gallery.
The last version, however, doesn't install in e107. After uploading via plugin manager or ftp I can't even see the plugin available.
Thanks for help

I tried again but I still can't see my gallery.
This is my absolute path (taken from gallery config.php) if it can help: /web/htdocs/www.deep-purple.it/home//gallery
thanks again

Sounds like version 5.1 of the plugin. Unfortunately, there was an mistake when packaging up all the files into the zip file for that version, which results in the plugin manager for e107 incorectly unzipping the file into the e107_plugins/ directory, instead of the e107_plugins/gallery2/ directory. Psygarden fixed this in version 5.2. You can grab it from here.

If you're still having trouble with v5.2, then we'll have to figure out what else could be giving you troubles.

Looks like you have url rewritting enabled on your Gallery2 installation. the e107 plugin does not support mod_rewrite by default as e107 itself does not eupport mod_rewrite. Please try disabling the mod_rewrite plugin in your Gallery2 admin page, and see if that helps.

If (after you get your Gallery2 in e107 working) you want to try to get mod_rewrite working for your e107+gallery2 site, You can give the directions from Psygarden a try. mod_rewrite. You can see an example of this working at my site or at Psygarden.be

Thanks, but, unfortunately, it does not help.
I still can see a black page: http://lnx.deep-purple.it/fan_club/e107_plugins/gallery2/gallery2.php

Any difference if you include the trailing slash / on the end of the g2Uri and g2Path?

http://lnx.deep-purple.it/gallery/
and /web/htdocs/www.deep-purple.it/home//gallery/

If that doesn't fix it, then I'm not quite sure... if you'd like, I could login and take a look around on your site. I'd need admin access to your G2 and e107 installs.

Also, if it's easier for you, feel free to drop me an instant message either on AiM or ICQ (my AoL account name is Rashan, and the ICQ number is 496077 ).
