im completely lost!!

please help me eventhough i dont know what to put in the above text... i am a complete newbie to this.. i am going to thailand in a weeks time and i really need somewher to store my pictures and share them with my family... so i bumped in to gallery.. but where do i start and what do i do when im down there, how do i upload and all such of other things.. can anyone direct me in the right direction... i have a webpage another place but cant upload pics to that unsless im at my laptop... hope someone can tell me what to download and how to set it up.. thanks-.
