I wasted $100 US dollars on photopost which i now have a license for but do not use on any of my dozen sites...
one of the biggest limitations of photopost i found is that it renames files and apparently they creators cannot do anything about that unless they rewrite the whole app (which of course they said they would not do). One site i run has a collection of scans - people would rather have the original name of the file so that they can see if they have it easily
.... I had to beg these people to even allow four letter extensions (eg .mpeg) and that they said was customization that i should be paying extra for lol
also the outlay of photopost is crap, it looks ugly and is confusing in comparison to Gallery
...not to mention their uploading of files features (could actually be the worst setup available), absolutely garbage again in comparison to Gallery <-- oh no they wont let you test it out to see what you think, you have to part with good money first
I hope people that are searching for the best gallery script available come here first and read this before parting with hard earned $$$, give it a try, im wrapped!

 Well, I'll be darned!
I bought PhotoPost just the other day and went and downloaded the non-trial version, thus voiding the 30 day guarantee (and yes, I'm kicking myself). I have Gallery set up on my site and I have a feeling it's the way to go. I just finished configuration and logged in my first time. I stumbled across this message while searching the boards for "now what?".
BTW, if you downloaded ONLY the 30 day trial you have a 30 day guarantee.
Later....

I bought PhotoPost a few months ago, and realized within two hours that their installation routines were not up to the level of their marketing materials. I asked for a refund via email. They refused. Dispite the errors in their documentation, which prevented a clean install, they offered only to charge me for installation. I don't agree with the way they treat their customers, and will not be renewing support. In fact, right now I'm looking to migrate my Photopost albums into Gallery on my main site without too much disruption to my users.
Needless to say, my other three sites got Gallery, which is a breeze to set up. And even though the support for Gallery and other open source software is mostly from the user community, at least you don't run into simply rude and curt responses.
