need help with theme

I'm using gallery-2.1.1a-full, Sirux theme...

I created a new main page, http://www.emorockchris.com/esoteric/gallery2/index.htm , but I don't know how to integrate certain parts from the original Sirux theme I like into the new theme... How would I put the "image count" text on the index.htm page?
