I would like to know if it is possible to have visitors register on the gallery with their own username and password and then upload their own pictures? However, me being the administrator, have ultimate control of what they post?  Or is it that they just send me their photos and I enter it all myself Is there a hack for that? if so, and someone post a link or tell me where to look?

Not sure what you want. To start with, have a look at <!-- BBCode Start --><A HREF="http://gallery.menalto.com/modules.php?op=modload&amp;name=phpBB_14&amp;file=index&amp;action=viewtopic&amp;topic=3657&amp;19565" TARGET="_blank">Self Registration</A><!-- BBCode End -->

Then everything else is just permissions. You could not allow anyone to upload, only allow certain users to upload. You could allow everyone.

You could create an album called "submissions" and only allow uploads to that. Then you could move images from there to your other albums - or delete them - after you've approved or rejected them.

Does this help?

Yes, thank you very much for your assistance.

What I want to do now, is when the visitor clicks login, that the register link shows up there also on the popup window.

I know this is a really old post, and this may have been addressed elsewhere, but I have a followup question (almost 7 years later) When a user uploads an image, is the user's information (email or registered ID) attached to the photo in some manner? I ask this because I am looking for a gallery application that could be used for a photo contest page.

You'd know the owner of the image and being the Gallery admin, you can lookup the account details of the user. That can be done with all 3 versions of Gallery.

As for a contest type thing, take a close look at the rating systems/plugin for G1 and G2. They may or may not be what you are looking for. I know they have not been exactly what some people were looking for when trying to do some sort of "voting" thing.
