Heya, This isn't a big problem but I thought it was worth mentioning. The © and possibly other symbols doesn't transfer in a server move. The name field cuts off at the & sign. Pretty much everything else seems to have gone smoothly but not that. Very minor point but I thought I should mention it. I'm manually going through and re-adding them so don't worry about a fix but maybe you could add it to the How-to's bit. Ed: Ack - things like ú have also gone. Cheers |

what kind of server move? and was the an upgrade of anything, maybe g2, involved?
did you switch from MySQL version x to y? or did MySQL have a different character set on the old server?

There was a G2 upgrade involved. And yes, I know I should have fully upgraded on the old server first but it seemed to go okay and I'm having sagas accessing information on the old server (hence the move) so I thought I'd try it and it seems to have worked okay.... except for this. Heheh.
I can't remember the exact upgrade difference, I'm afraid. Not very helpful. I know.
And the character set thing is an interesting one. I wouldn't know how to look for that.
It's also possible that the old server people aren't doing proper database dumps (I can't get to the darn SQL server itself - just. don't. ask. - so I tried to use one of their backup files 'cos it looked like a fairly good SQL script.)
If you're saying that it was just my transfer (which is perfectly possible), that's fine. It was close enough and seeing as I've managed to essentially transfer 3 G2 installs with over 3000 pics between them, I'm very very pleased it went as well as it has.
