Joomla & G2 -> not showing pictures

People,

I have installed joomla and G2. All worked fine. Even G2 is integrated into Joomla without errors.
The only error is that it's not showing any pictures when viewed from Joomla. Standalone it works perfect.

Some details:
path joomla: /var/www/localhost/htdocs/root
path G2: /var/www/localhost/htdocs/gallery
domain joomla: http://domain.com/root
domain G2: http://domain.com/gallery

In joomla:
full path: /var/www/localhost/htdocs/gallery/
relative path: ../gallery
path to mambo: /root/
embedded uri: /root/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=2

in G2:
url rewrite is deactivated
cookies path = /
domain = {EMPTY} (can't change it, gives error)

Also there is a Jscript error: object expected??

So I really don't know what is wrong. Looking for such a long time and can't find it.
