Search Engine Differences with G1 and G2

Hello.
1)I currently use G1 for an image gallery and love it. I notice that with recent "google updates" that "g" stopped caching pages in the gallery after the second level of images, so it would cache main page, and album pages but not second level pages or individual image pages.

I'm curious if anyone else noticed this with G1?

2)Now I've been looking at the demo G2 sites, and have been thinking about upgrading my gallery for two reasons. 1. G2 looks awesome, 2. The G2 image pages from most of the demo sites are for the most part indexed and cached in google. (which on my site are not)

So do you think an upgrade would help me get our pages reindexed?

I also noticed that g2 uses a jpg.html extension where my G1 pages end in /imagename
