Gallery in Frontpage Website

I am attempting to integrate Gallery into my Frontpage-based website.

There are 2 things I am trying to do with some difficulty:

1) Get a frontpage navigation menu to appear in a gallery html wrapper as a left-hand menu on 'index.php'. I've had trouble including the webbot navigation code into 'index.php' that is required when adding a page to the frontpage navigation scheme.

2) Get a single login page. I have a generic login page that gives away no information as to what the website is-- it is secured using basic authentication of the entire website directory using frontpage security features. I would like to modify Gallery (which is inside this protected directory) so that it recognizes the basic login used by my visitors to the website. I realize that I could upgrade to post-nuke or php-nuke or something... but right now I'm trying to see if I can get it working without that huge time commitment.

Any help or tips from others using MS frontpage would be greatly appreciated!!
