The server my site is on went down for a week before I could get the host to put it back up. When it did go up, they must have messed something up, and they keep trying to tell me it was restored exactly as it was. Ok, so I am having the hardest time fixing the damage they did to it.

When I try to upload new photos, I get this message:

Error: Unable to make thumbnail (0)!

When I go to the gallery configuration, I see this at the top of every page:

I can get most of the way through the Gallery Configuration Wizard, but get this message at the end:

Error: Missing value: Status code!

Going back, I noticed that in the "Technical Section", the status code field is blank.

Anyone have any advice on how I can get gallery to work again?

Thanks!

Hello,

it seems your hoster increased some security settings.

Have a look in the FAQ:
FAQ: Why do I get this error: Warning: exec() has been disabled for security reasons?

Is there any way around this problem? From the FAQ, it seems like this is the only way, and for a client to happily host a gallery website, the host needs to lower their server's security?

Is there any other way of using gallery with exec() still disabled?

Hi,

there is a patch around so that Gallery can use the PHP GD extension.
Other than that .. no way.

Sorry,
