how scaleable is gallery?

by this I mean

I currently have around 4000 photos in 30 odd albums ... i think im dreaming, but it seems to slow down the gallery even when viewing the small and "light" albums (if you get what I mean)

i have 3 albums each with hundreds upon hundreds of pictures, but are rarely viewed ... can this slow down the overall site at all?

I don't have that much photos, though my client site (www.wardriving.info) is really busy accessing the gallery section.

I know G2 will improve this but you have to wait for next year release posted in the development section.

I guess bharat need to answer this for us.

That's six weeks to alpha! :smile: It's a much longer road to a high quality product. But, it's going to be totally worth it. Trust me. The stuff I'm working on now is light years ahead of what Gallery 1.x could do.
