I am running a Joomla Community builder site with gallery 2. (all plugins are installed and working. These components work very will together.
I need to create multiple albums under the root gallery/ that all members can upload photos to. Each Album will be for a specific category and when members upload photos they need to be able to select the gallery that best matches the type of photo they are uploading.
As an administrator I have not been able to find any setting to allow me to create multiple root albums only able to create multiple sub-albums

creating multiple albums = create one album after another.
if you want to have an album for each user, use the useralbum module.

Thanks for the post.
As I experiment I get a clearer picture of my problem.
Can a User create more than 1 album under the root gallery/ ?
I have only been able to create multiple sub-albums under the
gallery/album1/sub-album1
gallery/album1/sub-album2
gallery/album1/sub-album3
I would like to know if it is possible to have a single user or administrator create multiple albums under gallery/ ?
gallery/album1
gallery/album2
gallery/album3
gallery/album4
once these albums are created they will each get sub-albums and all users need to be able to post to all albums and sub-albums

if you give a specific user or the "registered users" group the permission to add albums in the root album, then they can add as many albums as they want.

sure, just create those 4 albums one by one. it's done in a minute.

should, just go to each of those albums, click "edit permissions" and adjust the permissions the way you want them to be. e.g. granting "[core] add subalbum" to the registered users group.

I found the problem. I am running Jooml and Community Builder CG with a gallery2 plugin. I was logging as admin through Joomla and then going to the admin section of gallery2. When i did this the initial menu for creating albums was not displayed. When I opened Gallery2 on its own and logged into gallery 2 directly I had all the options to add albums ect.
thanks for the help and i hope this helps any of that may be running Joomla.
