Can't upload movies / ffmpeg

Toolkits = ImageMagick, ArchiveUpload, Ffmpeg

Operating system = Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 #1 SMP Mon Oct 16 14:54:20 EDT 2006 i686
Default theme = matrix
Locale = en_US

PROBLEM:
I'm having trouble uploading movie clips, Ffmpeg is installed and appears to work and I get no error messages. I don't even know where to start troubleshooting this issue. Any ideas?

Upload method? Movie size?
FAQ: Why can't I upload big files (over a megabyte or two)?

Size: 700Kb
Movie Format: avi, but also tried an mpeg

try the 'From Local Server' method.
did the ffmpeg toolkit pass the tests?
