Help needed !! Originally installed Gallery about 34 weeks ago, last week when fiddling managed to break it and have spent last few days wiping it clean and reinstalling. Managed to do that (got to finish) but can't remember how to do the [.htaccess] bit to increase the php memory limit. I am running on Apache Red Hat and have created a file as the installer suggests in the main gallery directory called .htaccess but still see the same message say that I am still on 8Mb - I remember this last time being a particular pain, perhaps someone can clarify (in baby steps) exactly what type of file, where, etc Oh and be nice - I am no programmer, I am a photographer and this PHP stuff it complete weird science to me. many thanks PHP = 4.4.4 www.northernphotoshop.co.uk - Photos of Northern England |

Meant to add that I have installed gallery 2.1.2, if you need extra info please ask - hints as to where I might find this would also be useful.
Thanks

FAQ: PHP memory_limit - Why do I get the error Allowed memory size of Xxx bytes exhausted?

Thanks, changed the main and index php files and that has worked a treat - once I get gallery up and running back to the former glory I will certainly make a donation to the cause.
Cheers mate
