Gallery Remote & Maintenance Mode

I recently was relocating my gallery from one host to another, and rather than backup/restore, I decided just to re-install and re-import my photos. While I was getting my themes and layout tweaked the way I like it, I figured I'd put the gallery in maintenance mode in case anyone stopped by the site. I went to upload my photos with Gallery Remote, and I was unable to. I could add a photo via any other method, but not the Gallery Remote app. I found troubleshooting tips in a couple different places for the "Server Contacted, but..." error. The logs appeared to show GR quitting after seeing the "Maintenace Mode" message on main.php. I put two and two together, and determined GR doesn't work while Gallery is in maintenance mode (even with admin credentials). Anyway, maybe this is common knowledge, but I didn't see it in any FAQ or troubleshooting related to that error. Is there somewhere I should add it in case there are users as dense as I am? Thanks! - Eric |

Same thing happened to me.. This thread didn't show up because I was searching the full error message, so I'm adding it. Definitely would've saved me some time. Error: Server contacted, but Gallery not found at this URL Regardless whether either of us are dense or not, it wouldn't take a whole lot of effort add 'Make sure you're not in Maintenance mode' to http://codex.gallery2.org/GalleryRemote:FAQ#Connecting_to_a_G2_installation:_Server_contacted.2C_but_Gallery_not_found_at_this_URL |

Thanks Dave - I went ahead and did so. I wasn't seeing a way to edit, and then realized I had to register separately for that. |
