Maximum reasonable number of pictures in G1

Hi all,

We are hosting about 5.200 pictures with G1 at the moment without problems. The album is growing anyway and I wonder whether at some point we must encounter big problems due to its size or not. I am happy with G1 and we would only upgrade to G2 in case of serious scalability issue. Where is the limit?

There is no set limit as such, but you will encounter performance issues at some point. Very hard to tell when it'll show up though.

Hi,

as H0bbel says, this is hard to tell. It depends on the Hardware, PHP settings (especially memory Limit), user count and frequency of use.

Normally you get problems from 10.000 and above. But there are G1 installs out there with 20k or 50k Photos.
