Donations should bring votes for the donator.

1$=1Vote

This would encourage many users (including myself :)) to danate and then vote for theyr loved features.

Power to the rich? :)

- I somewhat like the idea because it gives the people who actually care a way to influence the project a little more.
- Then I don't like the idea because it's skewed towards the rich.
- Also note that the number of votes someone has is limited anyway. I have tons of forum posts and I'm a forum member for a long time. That shows my commitment to the project. Thus I have the most votes (but that's still a limited amount).

So there people who may not have the time or knowledge to show their interest or dedication that way.
Maybe we can establish that people who have donated whatever amount (> $5 or so) have a total of 5 votes more what their number of forum posts corresponds to.
Maybe that's a bad idea, not sure.

Anyway, if you have money and would like to not only show you appreciation with a donation but also influence the future of the project a little more, you have other options as well:
- Offer a bounty for the successful implementation of a feature you desire (-> Marketplace forum).
- You can hire a developer (doesn't have to be an official Gallery developer) to implement whatever you need and if you want to help the project, donate the resulting code back to the community (to the gallery project).
- Other projects also offer "sponsored development" which is probably the same as the above options, but an official gallery developer would do the job instead.
