I have recently moved from one host to another as well as upgraded my Gallery version.

In Gallery 2
This doesn't work: http://cityblogger.com/photos/uttaranchal/nainital/pict4147
This works: http://cityblogger.com/photos/uttaranchal/nainital/pict4147.jpg

In Gallery 1 this is how the URLs were, so now all my links are broken.

Notes:

- I have seen this post but didn't help much. http://gallery.menalto.com/node/43735
- I haven't modified the standard .htaccess file, it was autogenerated.

Another question

Is it possible to tag photos? For example if I have photos of cars in 3 different folder - Paris, Bombay, Delhi and I want to see club all the car photos from these three folder, is that possible?

My Gallery.

Version: 2.1.2

did you enable the g1 -> g2 URL redirection rule in "site admin -> url rewrite"?

I tired, got this error

An error occured while trying to save your settings
Duplicate URL patterns.

Although its installed in the same url /photos, G1 wasn't first installed in this server, it was installed in another server, I did most of the migration steps and then copied that folder on the new server where G2 was installed. Rename /photos as /old and installed G2 into /photos and migrated.

you get that error if you enabled another short URL rule with the same "pattern". since g1 -> G2 redirects have absolute priority for you, you need to disable other rules that have the same pattern.

G2.2 has keyword albums that will do that.
or you can create link from the origial to the other albums (sort of like copy)

I managed to do that after disabling URL Rewrite - Show Item but that didn't solve the problem, it shows..!
