Joomla - browser compatibility / render: Trouble with Gallery2 position in Joomla

Gallery version (2.0.14)
PHP version (5.05)
PHPInfo Link (see FAQ):
Webserver (e.g. Apache 1.3.37):
Database (4.1.21-standard-log ):
Activated toolkits ():
Operating system (Linux):
Browser (Firefox 2.0.0.1 and IE 6):

Gallery2 is installed and appears to be working however I am having a position problem in Joomla when viewed using IE.

Under Firefox the gallery appears in the main part of the screen as you would expect with some of the Joomla menus on the left as in the other pages.
Using IE 6 the gallery appears under the left sided menus leaving a big empty area in the main part of the screen.
I am unable to find a control to position the main gallery section.

Surely someone has some ideas :)
What controls the position that Gallery2 will appear in IE?
