Album name out of a Variable

G2 version: 2.2-rc1
G1 version: 1.5.2

Hi folks,

in the old version I was able to read the album name for my counter with the variable string $gallery->session->albumName. Unfortunately I'm not too familiar with php. I crawled the code of Ver 2.2-rc1 a litte bit, but I was not able to find something simiar. Can anybody help me with this issue?

please see themes/matrix/templates/album.tpl (the page that shows the thumbnails) and photo.tpl.
also see modules/core/templates/blocks/ItemInfo.tpl which is included in both of the above templates to show the item / album title, summary, etc.

example:
in a template, you can use {$theme.item.title} to show the title.
