"Activation by administrator" and an email confirmation?

Hi all,

I have a private gallery set up, and I want to approve all registrations. This works perfectly well.

However, after I activate a user, I then have to manually send them an email telling them they can log into the gallery. Is there a way to have an email sent when I activate the user?

you'd have to modify the php source code of gallery to accomplish this.

Thanks... Searching the forum, I noticed that this was a feature request from back in 2002, but I don't see it on the voting list.

Is there a particular reason it was not implemented? Or is it just a matter of priority?
