invalid image-but only on some galleries

Hi...

I keep getting an invalid image error on upload, but only on older galleries
the newer 3 galleries are fine and I can create new galleries also

I had a problem, where the permissions had changed somehow..fixed this tho'
album.dat.lock etc iss 777 as is gallery temp

any suggestions greatly appreciated
