gallery remote with safe mode on ?

Hello !

I forced-installed Gallery 2 on a server with safe mode on ( I just can't change provider, since they host our NGO website for free, and they wouldn"t switch it off), by disabling the error on the installation script. And since I have already uploaded various album on my personal host, I really wanted to stick to G2, and the GR is great to teach computer illiterates how to easily put pictures.

but when I try to connect with GR, I get an error HTTP Post failed (HTTP 500 internal error)

Anybody ever tried GR with safe mode on ? and succeeded ?
