Adding buttons under logo

I'm just about done editing my template. :-) The last thing I would like to do is add some buttons underneith the logo on my gallery page. I tried to edit templates/theme.tpl where you're supposed to edit the logo but the buttons weren't showing up. Am I using the right file? Please help.
