MapVisitors Module?

I have a service that is very simple, you just post one line of html into the frame or footer and it shows a map of visitors to your web site.

Would this be a good candidate for developing into a Gallery module or do you think it's too simple? How hard do you think it is for a non-programmer to edit the theme layout directly?
