The following information is required to get an answer:
Get this information from the PHP diagnostic (in the configuration wizard).
Gallery URL (optional but very useful): http://www.theboxartden.com/Gallery/
Gallery version: v1
Apache version: 1.3
PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please): v 4.4.1
Graphics Toolkit: ?? Um, both NetPBM and ImageMagick available - no idea as to versions.
Operating system: FreeBSD
Web browser/version (if applicable):

In step 4 of the config wizard, I get these two errors:

Error: File config.php is not writable by the webserver - chmod it 777 before proceeding. See documentation for more details.

Error: File .htaccess is not writable by the webserver - chmod it 777 before proceeding. See documentation for more details.

I'm clueless!!! How do I "chmod it" ?? There are no details that I can find in the documentation for this - no idea how to access the shell (not kidding when I say *clueless*), but I have FTP. Unfortunately, the FTP solution leads to: "I'm sorry, the chmod tutorial has been removed." I'm downright stumped and unable to go any further till I fix this. :(

Please help?

Thanks!
Yuchtar

Very good question, drewsviews. I would also like to know how to do that. I have been trying to figure it out for days.

Finaly found it!!

Go to Host Manager, File Manager, see a complete overview, find .htaccess, click on the number in the last column and change it to 777. Then do the same for config.php. That did the trick. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the information. Since I am running XP I will have to give CuteFTP and SmartFTP a try. Again thanks.
