There, I wanted to add a Persian language that it would display Persian translation. I'm using Joomla with a bridge to gallery 2.

Yes, I searched and read about how to add a new language in this forum. But please forgive me that I'm still not clear about what I should do.

I read about http://gallery.menalto.com/wiki/Create_a_new_translation and I doubted it works or version 2. Yes I got the gallery-core.pot file from http://svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/gallery/trunk/gallery/po/ but what's next?

In the end I just wanted to select Persian language in the multilanguage module in site admin. And then when using Joomla and it's translation tools, Joomfish to select language, the gallery will respond according too.

Anyone can help me solve the puzzle? Thanks in advance :)

how to get the Farsi files? I couldn't find any link from the forum discussion.

regarding to "creating a new localization", I've added the language in GalleryTranslator.class but how can I see the option to choose Persian in multilanguage module?

click "downloads" above and get a nightly snapshot.. this has everything.

note that multilanguage module is not related to providing translations for gallery. to view the application in different languages you can go to "Your Account" and change your language, or edit your theme settings and add the "Language selector" block into your sidebar.. then you can easily switch between languages.

the multilanguage module lets you add captions to your photos in multiple languages... visit site admin / multilanguage to pick which languages. as these are your own captions, these are not translations for gallery text..

i need the multilanguage module to show the persian language to be available to select.

it was because my joomla site is in multilingual. when user select english for example, the whole site turns to english. and vice versa for persian language.

i know how to add multilanguage caption. but i need the language of user interface to change according to joomfish.

the multilanguage module may be useful for your site, i'm just saying you don't need it for viewing the application itself in other languages. i described above how to add the language selector in your sidebar to test different languages. if you're expecting the language to change based on joomla settings, you'll need to talk to someone who works on the joomla-G2 integration.

Hi I would like to ask where I can change the language name.
I use the multilanguage module to add some multilanguage info only for several images and then to read them from the db.
Now it reads "Espanol (MX) or Espanol (AR)". I would like to delete the mx, because the info is not country-specific (mainly Spain-related).
I saw the newer versions include a generic Spanish, but I don't have that version unfortunalely, and I can't upgrade, because the older version we are using is modified.
