lol, I've struggled mightily to get ANY gallery tool working in my mambo site. I think I've tried every component for mambo and half of the ones for joomla. Whine whine whine...

So, I finally get gallery 2 working... I even figure out how to get to just one gallery, figured out what is meant by "embed" and have tried to follow the instructions out there to make it work. I have been all over the forums for this product and mambo trying to figure this out. I have not seen this issue anywhere.

Problem: when I click any link in the gallery to see, say, another page of the gallery, or to open a picture in the gallery... It adds an extra index.php to the url string!! This breaks my mambo theme completely and it's really ugly!!

For example - this is the link they go to to see my embedded gallery http://dragraceusa.com/content/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=107

If I choose a gallery to see... this is the url they see.... http://dragraceusa.com/content/index.php/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=107&g2_itemId=28&g2_GALLERYSID=3f653ceb4c417c9036b83c19e13a8184 (note the extra "/index.php" in the url)

Here's page 2 of the gallery I chose... http://dragraceusa.com/content/index.php/index.php/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=107&g2_itemId=28&g2_page=2 (note that there are now 3 "/index.php"s)

And it goes on and on... If I click more pages, each page adds another /index.php to the url.

Here is the info about my gallery:

that must have something to do with your mambo short urls / SEF and with g2's short urls.

please disable g2's url rewrite module.
and disable mambo's short url support as well.

does it work then?

maybe your mambo/g2 integration config is incorrect...

No, this doesn't work. I don't have mambo's "search engine freindly" urls turned on, the g2 url rewrite module wasn't configured. I tried configuring the g2 url rewrite module and that didn't change anything, then I enabled mambo's short urls and that was just ugly... Then I disabled them both again.

I still get url's that go index.php/index.php/index.php/index.php... and it really makes my site look ugly.

I have tried just about every gallery tool on the market, and I just can't get one to work. I almost had easy galleryworking, and now it won't make new categories (ok well, it makes them in the interface, but in in the folder structure), or upload pictures... I've worked for weeks trying to get any gallery tool working. I'm not a complete noob, lol.

I did download the full version of gallery 2 and it does work well in stand alone version. I'm trying to incorporate the galleries into the mambo theme. I don't have users, so that's not a problem.

I found "sef" and tried unpublishing that... no difference

Did you find a fix for this issue? as I have same issue - reinstalled Bridge component and did not correct, SEF is off in Joomla and in G2 and I have Joomsef disabled.

Basically it is simply adding an extra index.php/ to the URL's so it causes an error... e.g. http://www.mysite.com/index.php/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=54...etc

Thanks

Fixed it,

I just renabled Open SEF, and listed one friendly url as follows

External URL

http://www.coderedcommunity.com

Internal URL

http://www.coderedcommunity.com/index.php

Remove and exclude components which you dont want to be affect by open sef, such as gallery!
