Seems as though everything went great with the installation. But, when I use the admin/password to login it does absolutely nothing other than put the cursor back into the username field. Any Ideas???

Thanks!!

If you close the window and do a page refresh on the album does it
then show you as logged in? Something else to check is your sessions.
Load up setup/diagnostics.php and do the sessions test to make sure
that goes okay. Lastly, you can try to check the werbserver and/or php
error logs to see if something strange is happening behind the scenes.

Addendum.
what browser are you using? Just in case, please use IE.

For what its worth, I just installed Gallery on my website, and I am having the same problem on my WinXPHome machine. However, when I go to my Win2000 or Win98 machine, I have no problem logging in. All three machines are running fully updated IE6. All three access the net on the same DSL connection. I scanned the IE settings and don't see any obvious problem, but I suspect that is the specific source of the problem.

Could it be any of the new and 'improved' security settings in IE?
Cookie permissions or javasript security level perhaps?

 IE6 / Netscape 7 browser... in Win2000 doing the same exact thing....

Funny this is happening to a lot of people.
I'll have a look around to see if there is a reported bug.

Check FAQs 4.21 and 4.23, also.

I can't log into my site either, never could.... I've made sure of the password several times in the configuration, type in admin for user and then my password, and it just says Logging In and doesn't do anything... I do a refresh on the gallery and I'm still not logged in, I've never been able to configure any admin settings... anyone know what I can do? Seems to be relevant from reading posts that I'm using WinXP Pro and IE 6 SP1.

Hi. This could be the second half of <!-- BBCode Start --><A HREF="http://gallery.menalto.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=GalleryDocs&file=index&page=gallery1-install.faq.c.php" TARGET="_blank">FAQ C.11</A><!-- BBCode End -->.

What does gallery/setup/session_test.php tell you?

I found one strange thing. If i go to the session_test page from the diagnostic main page, the test is success. but if i go straight to /setup/session_test.php, the test will fail.

So i wonder if my test is success or fail?

I'm having the same problem. I try to login as admin and the cursor just pops back up to the username field. But this is even more weird. I initially set up gallery on my laptop running win2000/IIS5 and it works fine. I then uploaded gallery to my host which is running linux/apache and this is when I get the problem. I'm using the same browser IE5.5 in both cases!

It's hard to tell what might be going wrong without more information.
Please post a link to your phpinfo.php file (you may want to copy it out
of your gallery/setup directory and put it somewhere accessible). That
should contain most of the info we need.
