Install the "Colorpack" module in "Site Admin" -> "Plugins".

http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Modules:colorpack

Select the Gallery2 "Black"-Colorpack in "Site Admin" -> "Themes"

or select "Ice Carbon"-Colorpack in "Site Admin" -> "Themes"

or modify the "color.css" file of "Ice Carbon"-Colorpack

or modify the "theme.css" of ICE Theme.

Noticed a new issue with the updated "Tags" module. The breadcrumbs aren't updating correctly in this Theme. See screens attached for an example.

The bread crumbs navigation links should adjust to the dynamic album displaying items "tagged." Instead, in ICE, they display the parent album's location.

@sandbag:
Set "Thumbnail links in dynamic albums" = "Browse dynamic album" in "Site Admin" -> "Themes".

The default in "ICE" is "Jump to original album".
The default in "Matrix" is "Browse dynamic album".

Thanks for the reply. couple of Q..
1. Floating items looks so nice.. I tried unchecking/checking "Show item view count (Album)" but no difference. its still showing as above.
2. I have enabled "show item title(Album) and observed that if title is wider, then the album next to it moved farther. I guess this can be done with css tweaking but not exactly sure which one to...
Could you pls help me..
Thanks a bunch.

I turned on Debug for another issue, and I noticed that I got a bunch of "Notice: Undefined index: ...." errors throughout the site. I changed to the Matrix theme and didn't get these. I cleared the template cache between changes if that matters.

Seems to be an issue with just albums, not items. It's as though it doesn't know what to insert for the size of albums.

Also get the following in admin, when making changes to theme:

Notice: Undefined index: titlenavigation in /home/webadmin/deathstalkers.gunpilots.com/html/gallery2/modules/core/AdminThemes.inc on line 149

Notice: Undefined index: titleblocks in /home/webadmin/deathstalkers.gunpilots.com/html/gallery2/modules/core/AdminThemes.inc on line 149

Notice: Undefined index: titlealbum in /home/webadmin/deathstalkers.gunpilots.com/html/gallery2/modules/core/AdminThemes.inc on line 149

Notice: Undefined index: titlephoto in /home/webadmin/deathstalkers.gunpilots.com/html/gallery2/modules/core/AdminThemes.inc on line 149

Notice: Undefined index: photoalbum in /home/webadmin/deathstalkers.gunpilots.com/html/gallery2/modules/core/AdminThemes.inc on line 149

Notice: Undefined index: titleextra in /home/webadmin/deathstalkers.gunpilots.com/html/gallery2/modules/core/AdminThemes.inc on line 149

1 more issue: Edit button is not showing up at the bottom of the page, this is necessary to edit the total gallery settings. This is there in carbon. Not checked in Matrix though.

Edit: Ignore my Question. Sorry being dumb.

@sandbag:
Those are common errors with PHP depending on the level of error reporting set. Undefined indexed just mean that the variables haven't been defined before they were used.

Boner, I installed Gallery 2.2.1 a few weeks ago and your ICE theme is my absolute favourite! Great work, well done!

There's only one thing I cannot figure out: On the photo view page I would like to be able to click on the photo to take me to the next photo.

On your website, for example on http://www.3dserver.net/gallery2/index.php/v/KeineSidebar/Island/008.jpg.html? I can click on the photo and it forwards to the next one. Where in your theme is the setting for this?

I did set "Disable view image inline full size" and it still wouldn't work. But I've just figured out why: If the image is at full size (which mine were) the link to the next image does not appear.

I had set up only one size for my images (plus the thumbnails). I've just created a second, slightly smaller size and use that one on my photo view pages. Now the 'next' image link works :)

Boner,

Beautiful theme, I enjoy it, thanks very much!

I am pretty new to Gallery2, and I have a question. Can you (or anyone) describe step-by-step what settings should be changed in order to get design like this one: http://www.3dserver.net/gallery2/index.php/v/FloatingItems/IceDefault/

And can this style be applied only to one selected album, and use different style settings for other ones? I am familiar with CSS, so you can provide some code too.

Thanks in advance! ;)

Go to "Edit Album"-> "Theme", here can you select different styles for the album.

Thank you for this wonderful theme, Boner! I've found that with micro thumbnails on there are major performance problems with only 10 users browsing, so I've had to turn them off even though I like them.

@honvl:

Try:

- Enable "Partial Acceleration" or "Full Acceleration" in "Site Admin" -> "Performance"
- Disable "Show micro thumbs page navigator" in "Site Admin" -> "Themes"

Hi There, Great design, I like that you can customized it quite bit, I was wondering if you can limit the columns or rows on the floating view, Thanks.

Is there a way to Copyright the images; so that people cannot right click on their mouse and say "Save As"?

Well it might be possible with some nasty IE only script. You do a lot better just to have a copyright warning in your footer and leave it at that.

You can also use the "watermark"-module for the copyright warning.

When I embed Gallery into Drupal with the ice theme the tiny icons on the upper left are gone. This doesn't happen with other themes. Also, I tried changing them to text links using the instructions in an earlier post and those were also blank. The links are there. I have to mouse over them to see what they are with the mouseover text.

Goto "Site Admin" -> "Themes", add "Item actions" to "Blocks to show in the sidebar".

The "fallback mode" for the "Item actions"-icons only works with installed "Icons"-Module.

Oh my gosh! I didn't realize it would be so simple. I must just not be familiar with Gallery, I thought Item Actions were something else. I installed the icons module which I saw that I didn't even have activated. Now it works. Thanks for your help!

I'm using this excellent theme and I too was experiencing problems with the micro thumbnails. I have currently turned this off and the performance is much better. I think I have brought it upon myself though as the album has over 2000 items in it and I believe it is the call to core.LoadPeers which was taking too long.

I had the caching turned on and once the page had been successfully rendered (usually on the 2nd or 3rd refresh of the page after receiving a blank page) the performance was very good. I am going to try splitting my gallery into a seried of smaller albums and see if I can get good performance from this.

I also had the same "problem" as some of the people above with slightly inconsistant UI when clicking on the image on the photo page. When there was only one image size it would not do anything, and when there were 2 or more it would go from the small to the large version and then to the next item.

I modified a copy of the photo.tpl and put it in the local folder and I have now made it always just go to the next item.

Thanks again for the great theme.

Nice work on the ICE, very clean...
Seeing your "Photo Grid" option has given me an idea... Do you think it possible to make a grid type layout that would be dynamic for a "Doorway" page to a site? Meaning that images in the grid would not really link to XYZ image, but rather another "Main" page. The page would have to be almost stand alone, incase you want to run a different theme or such.

Might make a nice option even to add as a plugin to the Gallery2 core "Doorway Grid"

Sorry to be a little off topic, but do any of you think that could be setup, if so how?

Also specific to ICE, how can you get the grid to be centered and "Stiff" a simple style mod? Right now the grid if fluid and will move depending on window size. Might make for a nice added option.

Hi.

I was wondering how to adjust the justification and line width of the item summary on the album page of ice theme.

I'm laying out slides from a lecture. I'd like to use one column with a caption underneath each image. But now when I insert the transcribed text into the item summary, I notice that the text runs from end to end and is centered. I'd like to have it so that it conforms to the dimensions of the image and is justified.

Please check the attached screenshot for a clearer explanation of what I'm talking about...

I realize that the item summary isn't necessarily intended to handle long(ish) texts, but this seemed like the easiest option. If anyone can recommend a better way, please let me know.

hello, first of all: good job, this is really nice! thanks for sharing!

i've got a question about the hypertext-links: how can we redesign the way they are displayed? i want them bold, so people can distinguish them from regular text, you see?

apart from that, it's all good...

I'd imagine that you'd just have to alter the theme.css to make the 'a' tags have the style you want. Something like

#gallery a {
font-size: 11px;
font-weight: bolder;
text-decoration: none;
color: #5b7cb6;
}

robroe: thanks, chief, that helped!

i got another one: have you guys noticed that the theme scrolls down below the footer quite a bit? i don't think this should be necessary, what do we do?

(and i dont know if you guys can help me out with this one: i kinda managed to lose the >>> Show 'Photo Properties' icon <<<. i can check it and uncheck it as much as i want - it just wont show up on the page after. see: http://www.crehage.com it's driving me nuts!)

thanks guys, great board!

Hi all,

I installed the ICE theme and am having problems with the album layout, it is messed up. I mean there are lines with just 1 picture and rows with more/less pictures than it should have. Please see attached image.

Any idea what could be wrong and how to correct this ?

Marcel

Choose "Matrix" for "Show Childs as" in "Site Admin" -> "Themes".

Replace in theme.css:

body.gallery {
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
min-height: 1024px;
}

with:

body.gallery {
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
}

Hi all,

I have Add Comments enabled for registered users at the photo page, underneath the album block is the text area.
When the user types his comment, the text goes out of the text area into the dark space where you cannot see what you're typing anymore.
And there is no Submit button, so it is not possible to submit the comment.

Please see attached image for clarification.

Is this some setting that needs to be changed ?

Marcel

i've noticed that the blue rollover effect doesn't work in IE6. is this by design?

also, the corners are not rounded on the default imageframe in IE6, they're square.

The rounded corners are FF only style sheet effect.

First of all, ICE is such a pretty theme. Thanks very much for that!

Refer to your site - http://www.3dserver.net/gallery2/index.php/v/FloatingItems/, the no. of photos per row/column are automatically adjusted depending on the size of the browser.

I followed the setup as shown in "ICE_FloatingItems.jpg". Nevertheless, my page doesn't have the wrapping effect as I adjusted the size of the browser. There is only one pictures in certain rows in some cases.

Appreciate your advice on this!

I love this theme and would like to use it on my site. However - I want to use the original carbon style icons and options slide bar. I can see it in some of the screenshots posted around here, but can't figure out how to configure it.
Do I need to install something else?

Thanks for any info.
