carbon theme: view count not showing up

Hello, sorry for the newbie question, but I'm puzzled and didn't find an answer in any of the FAQs.

I'm using the Carbon theme (very nice). I was tinkering with it some, doing some configuration and I seem to have lost the nice 'view count' information that was displayed. I'm not sure what I did to turn it off and haven't been able to figure out how to turn it back on. I've only used the admin and edit album interface and haven't touched the files themselves.

After reading some of the threads on this topic I checked the album.tpl file and it looks like:

item=$child
showDate=true
showOwner=$showOwner
showSize=true
showViewCount=true
showSummaries=true
class="giInfo"}

Anyway help would be much appreciated.
