First of all, gallery is fantastic. Thank you to all of the developers for their generous contributions to the community.

Sorry if this was asked and answered somewhere else; I did attempt a search before posting.

Is it possible to add new items into gallery using an rss feed from an external source? E.g can gallery subscribe to someone else’s rss feed and automatically insert new items based on the contents of the feed? If so, how? Hope that makes sense.

(I know about creating rss feeds from items that are already in gallery, that’s not my question.)

Thanks for any help.

As far as I can recall, this is probably the first request I have seen for this. You should probably either create the feature yourself (say, as a module) or submit an RFE and hope that not only do people vote for it... but that someone else is interested in developing it.

Out of curiosity, what would be the practical use?

Since gallery is capable of creating album rss feeds, I suppose a practical use would be, for example, if Site B’s gallery wanted to include the same content located on Site A’s gallery.

However, I realize that the rss feed just links back to content located on the gallery where the feed originated. I guess you couldn’t actually transfer the content from gallery to gallery; you would essentially be linking to other galleries.

Something to think about…

Thanks for replying.
