I am trying to ftp upload a bunk of pictures to a seperate directory so that I can add items from local server. The documentation for Gallery 2 indicates that in site admin under the General Options tab I should be able to set the path to the local directory. Unfortunately nowhere in site admin can I find the place where I would set the path. In other words there is not option for me to set the path for the "from local server" function.

I am currently running the latest relase of Gallery 2

Any help is greatly appreciated.

this feature has been moved into a separate module.
please install the "item add" module.
see: docs -> installation -> additional components (modules, ..)

Valiant, could your give more direction on where to find this? I'm not yet.

http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:User_Contributions#Modules lists "Recursive add-from-server (part of the "add items from local server" functionality)" but the link goes to http://gallery.menalto.com/node/22594%2523comment-84632#108534 a page of release notes with no mention of the module.

it's an official g2.2 module.

you didn't provide any information, so i assume you're using g2.2 or g2.2.1.

instructions on how to install plugins / modules are at:
documentation -> quick start guide, near the end.

My installation was an upgrade and I was having numerous problems. I've done a fresh install and everything is working great.

My base problem was my upgrade installation not responding as described in the documentation.
