Hi there, I upgraded from G1 to G2.12 just before the release of 2.2. Everything worked out fine, but I am still uploading photos (i had a massive collection and had to start uploading from scratch - 1 to 2 migration didn't work, long story). Anyways, I am wondering, since i'm still uploading photos and I am comfortable with how I have everything configured now, should I wait to upgrade to 2.2 until I have all my albums and photos set? I looked into upgrading to 2.2 right when it came out but the list of bugs and known issues made me want to wait until the good ole gallery techies fixed some of those. I am very interested in the upgraded captcha abilities with 2.2 since I keep getting some really awful comment spams, however, I believe that these spams are being put up manually since I am only receiving one or two a day - so then would the improved captcha even help? One more question, when I upgrade to 2.2, what will carry over (modules, etc) if anything? Thanks guys, I realize there are a few questions here, I hope I've put them in the right place. Please let me know if you want any more info. Thanks again! |

FYI: you're running g2.1.2, not g2.12
g2.1.2 is a fine version.
overall, g2.2 has less bugs, is more robust, has more features, is more secure, etc. etc.
you can upgrade now, you can upgrade later. both is possible.
@modules:
when upgrading, it should warn you about missing modules if you don't have all necessary modules in your modules/ folder. no data is lost anyway.
but as always, we recommend you backup your g2 before you upgrade.

sorry, forgot the second "." in 2.1.2
ya, i upgraded anyways, due to the spam problem I was having. Everything turned out well, the upgrade option was SO convenient.
Thanks again to the developers of Gallery, i love it!
