Just downloaded and installed G2 from the latest (May 19) snapshot.
Running on a Linux box, it installed fine, and works well, except for the lack of thumbnailing.
Performing the ImageMagick and Netpbm check results in full success. However, when i ask for thumbnails to be created, nothing happens. Also, G2 doesn't seem to know the resolutions of the images, instead placing [???x???] below the images.
Just for feedback,
Greg

Please disregard the previous posting. After a couple of re-installs, and further recompiles of PHP, thumbnails are working.
I'll try to hammer on G2 in the coming weeks, and will try to report actual bugs rather than red herrings...

Heh, I saw this post earlier today and was just about to answer when I got called away. Glad to hear you figured it out on your own. Don't worry, we plan to improve the way that we walk you through the graphics toolkit installs so that folks have fewer problems getting it installed properly.

Hi,
I am having problems with this....I have reinstalled many times, have double checked my NetPBM and ImageMagick instalations, but to no avail, all image manipulations fail and I don't get thumbnails either.

This is for troubleshooting Gallery 1.x. Please ask your question in the G2 forum. Thanks

I did enter my posting under G2.
1. I clicked on Gallery 2.x...
2. Then clicked on General Development
3. Noticed the topic No Thumbnails
4. Read message and noticed that it did in fact have 100% to do with G2
5. Posted message.
Chad.

Andrew,
Hate to say this again, but you're wrong. Have a look at http://gallery.menalto.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=index
This is a G2 forum.
I wish Bharat had left G2 in the title, but he didn't

Oops, well it's an honest make on Andrew's part since he's dealing in huge volumes of user assistance posts. I'll look into changing the title of the topic to something that makes it more obvious.

Agreed, Bharat. Andrew's very helpful, and generally shows more patience than he should.
Be wrong anytime you want.

I still can't figure out how I thought this was another forum two times. Anyway, the title change should help
