importing albums - i'm a total novice...

Hello! A friend of mine uploaded Gallery v1.4.1 to my site a few year's back and I love using it. I recently noticed my host provider, Dreamhost, has an easy install for Gallery v2.2.1 with automatic updates! I'd love to switch to that version. Is there a way to transfer my old albums to the new Gallery after i install it? (i haven't done anything yet) I was wondering if I could download the folders that held the info then upload them once the new Gallery was installed. I saw some post here referring to the same question but the answers looked pretty complicated. I don't code at all, except for rudimentary html and unix commands. As a complete novice to code... should I attempt the transfer of my albums or just keep my old version of Gallery? thank you! |

1. install g2
2. import your g1 data into g2 with g2's migrate module
3. delete g1
