How can I set permissions for users to add pictures?

This is probably a standard feature but I can't figure out how it works. The solution in the Quick start guide -> set permission doesn't work for me. It says "If you are in 'Site Admin', click on 'Gallery' in the upper left corner to reach the root album". But I can't click on 'Gallery'.

Unfortunately I can not add modules. The technical part of my gallery is managed by a small company. I've asked their helpdesk first but don't get the right answers. The "useralbum" module is not a module which is in their package. Is there another solution?

Background info: it is a gallery with pictures from a school. Not only the admin (me) should be able to add pictures to existing or new (sub-)albums but also parents should be able to add pictures.

that instruction just means that you should exit the site admin area and browse to the album where your users should be allowed to add items.

Hmmm, thanks, after all it works.

Not very user-friendly though or am i doing something wrong? I've tried to give a group permission just to add, i.e. "[core]-add subalbum" and/or "[core]-add subitem". (I use dutch version by the way).

Unfortunately the "edit" link in the album did not appear. So I had to add "[core]-edit items" to give users access to the menu's.
