configuration wizard help

The following information is required to get an answer:
Get this information from the PHP diagnostic (in the configuration wizard).
Gallery URL maurell.ca/gallery
Gallery version:1.5.6
Apache version:
PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please):4.4.6
Graphics Toolkit:
Operating system:xp professional
Web browser/version (if applicable):

Just updated to ver. 1.5.6 and ran configuration wizard. There is a warning about register globals, but from what I read in the forums it is merely a warning, not an error. When I click next to procede to step 2 in the wizard, it sends me back to the login page and I can'[t complete the configuration. Any help please.
