A main page instead of going directly to the root album?

I am very new to this. I have installed G2 with no problems and I have changed the look to a certain extent. I am wondering if I am missing something though. I would like to have the photo gallery start with a "main page" with thumbnails of all the different albums instead of going directly to the root album. How do I achieve this? I am using the ajaxian theme and I really like it.

Also,

If anyone could help me by showing me some code as to how to embed in my exsisitng site. That would be awesome as I have read the documents but I still don't quite understand.

Sorry for my igonorance but I really love this gallery and would love for it to work.
