Gallery version: 1.5.6
PHP version: 4.4.1
Apache version: 1.3
Operating system: Win XP
Web browser/version: IE v7

Hello

Is there a way to link Gallery 1, phpBB and CuteNews together? ...meaning that if someone creates an account in the phpBB forums then an account for that person is created with the same username and password for G1 and CuteNews.

It doesn't matter about CuteNews too much. How do you make phpBB and G1 work together then? I don't have shell access btw. I only have access to the files and stuff. Can I still do this without shell access?

I can't find a HowTo.txt there, but there is a README web page. In there it says: "This directory contains a couple extra add-ons for phpBB 2.0.x.".

Add-ons:

Template caching
Visual Confirmation System
Database Informer

Is it one of those?

Oh, oops.

I've found it. Could you just explain what this step means exactly? :

"
- go to the this modules folder and create link in modules folder to gallery (or install gallery here)
- cd phpBB2/modules
- ln -s /path/to/your/Galleryfolder gallery (This works only on *nix Systems)
"

How should I, "create link in modules folder to gallery" and what does, "cd" and, "ln -s" mean?

Thanks for the help btw. I hope I'm not too annoying :)

[a few days later]

I'm still stuck on the step above. If someone could explain what I need to do, that would be great.
